About Me

As a nationally certified sign language interpreter, I am fluent in American Sign Language. I have a passion for education and consider myself a lifelong learner. In 2004, Iearned a B.S. in Elementary Education. Shortly thereafter, I became pregnant with my first child and immersed myself in information on pregnancy and birth.  Under the care of a midwife, I welcomed my daughter at a birth center completely naturally in 2006. Since then, I have had two more children, one in a hospital with limited interventions in 2008, and another completely naturally in a birth center in 2011. I have breastfed all three of my children, and birth has become my passion. Just after earning a M.Ed. in Interpreting in 2012, I signed on for Birth Boot Camp Instructor training. I am excited to empower mothers to trust their bodies and make informed decisions about care for themselves and their babies with Birth Boot Camp’s holistic approach to childbirth preparation. Couples are sure to enjoy coming to class each week!

Check out my blog posts soon for information about each of my births, as well as other topics! Welcome, and I hope to see you in class!

  1. Dee – this looks very exciting! I am so proud of you and all the work and education you have put into making an impact on the lives of others. I so enjoyed the church service where you ‘signed’ the birth of Jesus through music. You are inspiring!
